During a celebration organized this morning, Wednesday, by the Quality Department, the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development, at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers’ Club, Sheikh Saif said: “I am proud of this achievement that benefits the society and the employees. I hope we will tirelessly continue to develop, improve and maintain what was achieved after the hard and long work done in this regard.”

Sheikh Saif expressed his optimism towards the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to prepare and qualify around 400 UAE citizens as certified quality auditors and assessors. “These efforts serve all UAE institutions, and help them in their journey to improve the quality of services and achieve the excellence that the country’s leadership and government are keen to accomplish,” Sheikh Saif added.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Saeed Matar Al Suraidi, Head of Quality Department, delivered a presentation on the quality project at the ministry. Al Suraidi said that the plan was executed over the course of three years, which was a record time compared to the Ministry’s size, nature of work, geographical scale and the special nature of the police work. According to Al Suraidi; the project was executed simultaneously with the restructuring the organizational chart of the ministry, to make it more efficient and document its operations and procedures based on different disciplines and tasks.

Al Suraidi added that the quality projects of the MoI sectors were executed through 3 projects: qualification of the ministry’s departments (a 5 phase project); qualification of Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs (a 3-phase project); qualification of General Headquarters of police and civil defense (a 2-phase project).

Al Suraidi said: “The quality teams prepared a quality and documenting system. The consulting entity played a role in training and consulting, in order to support and improve the system. UAE citizens constituted 99.8% of the quality teams. The plan was executed in a creative approach, saving time, efforts and costs. Operational measures, indicators and models were unified across all sectors and levels, in order to support the units of the organizational chart.”

“The police leaderships from all sectors and levels played a significant role to support this project, and support and cooperate with the quality teams to execute this project. The goals were not to obtain this certificate only, but to continuously improve and develop our police operations and services, to satisfy the clients and achieve the vision and the strategy of the ministry,” Al Suraidi added.

Denis Ives delivered a speech in which he extended his gratitude to the MoI officials for giving him the opportunity to attend the ceremony.
