ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, July 8th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols, organized yesterday Monday the first forum for the traffic services under the theme of “7-star Traffic Services” and was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The forum is a part of the strategic directives of the Abu Dhabi Police to provide better services to customers and to promote a culture of standards in service excellence consistent with the UAE Outstanding Government Services Program.

The forum began with a short film about one of the motivational meetings held by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The movie reflects His Highness’ confidence in the headquarters’ staff and his keenness to elevate performance to the highest levels in order to reach a leading position globally in policing services systems.

Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate tackled the importance of the forum by noting that this first forum is one of the integrated corporate workshops aimed at developing traffic services in order to reach the expectations and aspirations of the higher leadership. Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi said, “Thanks to the efforts of this leadership, service centers in the UAE have become a role model in institutional innovation and in exceeding customer expectations.”

Moreover, Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi indicated that the slogan of the forum stems from the directives of the police leadership in providing superior service. “It also reflects the keenness and commitment of the directorate’s staff members to be ambassadors of excellence through the traffic services offered via the various service channels that are available in the directorate. The forum is an enabler of cognitive and creative empowerment for the service providers to connect with the public in accordance with traffic policies, regulations, and seven-star services,” explained Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi.

Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi added that the forum will be followed by additional events and specialized training programs that are specifically customized to meet the needs of the directorate’s staff members in their continuous pursuit towards excellence in services.

“We will be holding such meetings periodically in order for the traffic services to keep up with customer expectations and the government’s confidence in providing such excellent services,” said Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi.

For his part, the advisor, Dr. Emad Eddien Hussein, a corporate excellence expert and international trade arbitrator, highlighted the critical success factors of the distinguished institutions’ quest in achieving the seven-star stature. He also shed light on the major challenges of the journey, how to find innovative solutions, and to review some of the creative practices in the delivery of governmental services so the message of excellence would spread to the employees, customers, partners and suppliers, and service partners within the system; therefore becoming a daily reality and lifestyle towards sustainable leadership.

Dr. Hussein concluded the presentation by praising the achievements of the directorate, as well as the practices and values adopted by the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate in order to offer seven-star services.

The forum included a knowledge-based competition on the best initiatives that have supported the directions of the directorate towards achieving seven-star services, in addition to receiving more creative contributions and initiatives from the staff with the aim of developing the service levels. The contests were held in an atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Ramadan motivating the directorate’s personnel and strategic partners who participated in the meeting.

At the end of the forum, Al Harithi expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the excellent ambassadors from the directorate’s staff who participated in the forum, the first of its kind in the directorate’s march towards excellence. The Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate, Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi, praised the efforts of the organizers, “Leadership and excellence in the traffic services is not just an ambition that we all strive to achieve. They have become a duty, a message of loyalty, and a promise to the higher leadership, valued customers, and partners to exceed their expectations and to strive to keep up with their aspirations.”

The forum is part of the strategic initiatives of the directorate in providing superior service to the public and in obtaining the highest satisfaction of its customers through quality service centers equipped with the best equipment and service channels.

The forum was attended by a number of officers and staff members involved in providing services to the public from the directorate, and a number of the directorate’s strategic partners.
