ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, July 7th 2014 [ME NewsWire]Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reviewed plans to develop and update the strategy of the Ministry of Interior’s fight against drugs in accordance with latest international practices in this field.
During the meeting held Monday at the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Police, His Highness approved a number of strategic initiatives in the sector of drug control. These initiatives impact the efforts employed to address this scourge by utilizing the best practices and methodologies. They include developing new organizational units, providing specialized staff, and providing sophisticated programs and electronic systems.
The meeting also discussed the efforts put forth to strengthen strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations, invest in the prevention of the risk of addiction, and the ways to deal with the scourge of drugs in order to protect the society from its destructive effects.
The meeting was attended by Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations; Brigadier Mohammed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director General, Anti-Narcotics Federal Directorate General at the Ministry of Interior. Also attending were Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police; and Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister; as well as a number of other officers.
