Car Involved in Hit and Run Death seized by Abu Dhabi Police

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Friday, September 12th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Traffic Investigations Branch at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police managed to arrest the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run accident, which killed an elderly woman in Al Yahar North in Al Ain city, within 48 hours of the accident.

Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Chief of Al Ain Traffic Section at the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, elaborated on the details of the accident. “The Operations Room received notification about a hit-and-run accident in Al Yahar North in Al Ain City,” indicated Major Al Hemairi, pointing out that a search and investigation team was immediately formed.

Major Saif Mohammed Nuaif Al Ameri, Traffic Investigations Branch Manager at the Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section, noted that the team managed to collect trace evidence belonging to the vehicle that caused the accident. “The owner of the vehicle that ran over the elderly woman was identified and arrested; further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the accident,” concluded Major Al Ameri.
