Saif Bin Zayed Examines the Best Government Authority Award Received By ADP’s ‘CityGuard’ Application

His Highness Lieutenant General Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, examined the Best Government Authority Award won by ADP`S CityGuard smart phone application for its distinguished performance in responding to customers’ cases. The award was dedicated to ADP General Headquarters for its special participation in Abu Dhabi E-Government Initiative.

Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said: “This achievement comes as a response to His Highness’ instructions, and stems out of the abiding faith in Abu Dhabi Police GHQ`S vision, which seeks to efficiently establish Abu Dhabi Emirate as one of the safest and most secure cities in the world”.

Lakhrebani pointed out that ADP GHQ is keen to provide UAE citizens and residents with high quality police services, as high standards of safety and security have become a prerequisite worldwide, to achieve a safer, secure and prosperous life to all society members. He added: “ADP is constantly seeking to provide the public with distinguished services”.

The award was presented to His Highness by Major Mohammad Ismail Al Harmoudi, Chief of the Complaints and Suggestions Directorate at the MoI’s Strategy and Performance Development Department. Major Al Harmoudi explained that ADP has added another landmark achievement to its credit in the field of applied work systems, which promotes the spirit of initiative among its staff members, by winning the Best Government Authority Award for its distinguished response to customers’ cases.

Major Al Harmoudi added: “ADP has managed to respond to all cases, including customers’ grievances and suggestions communicated via the CityGuard application, according to the standard response time rates set by Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Center, thus positioning itself at the forefront of governmental institutions and departments in providing the fastest response time. This includes the referral of all requests to ADP’s relevant departments, which in turn have responded in the best possible way.” Major Al Harmoudi also noted that community members’ transactions and feedback regarding police performance are being processed by qualified staff, working in the fastest and most accurate way according to the system.

Major Al Harmoudi stressed the importance of this award recently received by ADP Complaints and Suggestions Directorate at the fifth Abu Dhabi E-Government Forum, which was attended by all Abu Dhabi governmental authorities and departments. “This award represents a valuable incentive for ADP’s qualified staff members operating the system. It would also contribute to constantly improve the quality of services provided to the public, in line with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategy,” he said.

Adding further, Major Al Harmoudi noted that the CityGuard application is adopted by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s Executive Committee, and supervised by Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Center. It is considered as an interactive channel and a step forward to effectively engage the public and enhance their collaboration with government entities, to ensure the progress and prosperity of the Abu Dhabi Emirate in all sectors and fields.

The application aims to achieve several goals, namely supporting the efforts made by Abu Dhabi government to become one of the best governments globally; utilizing the emirate’s advanced technological infrastructure to integrate new applications that would enable Abu Dhabi to achieve its goals and aspirations; and supporting the coordinated efforts made by the various government entities to achieve Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030. “The program adds new and advanced meanings and dimensions to the security concept, based on the fact that the citizen is a partner in promoting public safety and security in the Emirate. Moreover,  Abu Dhabi, which has become an important destination for tourists, businessmen and investors, needs similar initiatives, which enhance the quality of governmental services provided across this Emirate,” Major Al Harmoudi explained.

The application basically depends on the public’s cooperation. Users of this application may take a photo, or record a video or an audio file to document a case via their smartphone.  It also has a built-in interactive map to pinpoint the location of the users and reported incident, and report it directly to the Abu Dhabi Government`s Contact Center, which in turn, sends the report to the relevant authority. Users can track the progress of their report through the CityGuard application, via the Abu Dhabi Government’s website, or by directly calling the Abu Dhabi Government`s Contact Center (800 555).
