The Police Follow-up Department, at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior, in coordination with the concerned authorities, developed the Federal Traffic Points Program for motorists with black point violations. The department has amended a number of educational and informational materials for motorists who are enrolled in the program.

The program implements the best practices in order to maximize the benefits, and supports the aspirations and efforts of the Ministry of Interior in upgrading traffic safety levels in accordance with the best international standards. The program will also continue to implement the development plan for the remaining material during the coming period.

The Police Follow-up Department held a coordination meeting with the liaison officers of the Federal Traffic Points Program. The meeting was chaired by Major Ahmed Juma’a Al Khaili, Head of the Traffic Points Program at the department.

Major Al Khaili lauded the efforts exerted in developing the program. The participants stressed the importance of standardizing procedures and the teamwork needed in order to reach excellence in the provision of services.

With regard to the terms of enrollment, the program includes the reduction of black points before reaching the cumulative limit (24 points); which can be used once a year, and reduces up to eight points upon the successful completion of the program.
