Series top scorers awarded 10,000AED toward procurement based training

After the success of their Dubai 2013 Real World Sourcing series, Strategic sourcing company Tejari, together with CIPS MENA launched the 2014 series of expert briefings in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi this year. The series tailored exclusively for mid to senior-level procurement executives offers a programme of eight expert briefings focused on real world, practical experience delivered by purchasing and supply chain expert Guy Allen, and Peter Smith, Managing Director of Spend Matters UK/Europe.

In conjunction with the series, Tejari offered participants the chance to win the 2014 Real World Sourcing Scholarship for use towards procurement specific training. To qualify for the scholarship, participants were asked to complete online certifications following each briefing, this reinforcing Tejari’s efforts to support education in the region. The top ten scorers across the series gathered over two days alongside Tejari and CIPS MENA representatives at The Kempinski, The Palm for the Dubai briefings and The St. Regis Saddiyat Island for the Abu Dhabi set of briefings to hear the winners of the 10,000AED scholarship fund.

After a close finish, Ali Saddedin, Senior Procurement Manager at Emirates Falcon Electromechanical Company was named 2014 Dubai Real World Sourcing Scholarship winner and was presented with the cheque of 10,000AED. The winner said “I would like to thank Tejari for this great opportunity. It was a good challenge and based on my belief in personal development and continuous learning, I am delighted to have won the Real World Sourcing Scholarship” The Abu Dhabi winner of the 2014 Real World Sourcing Series was announced last night and went to Jonathan Tungu of EC Harris, Jonathan said “I am very excited to have won the Real World Sourcing scholarship for 2014. The series provides a wonderful opportunity for procurement professionals to learn, benchmark practises against industry leaders and to network among peers. Through the series, Tejari has again demonstrated its leadership role in working with all industry stakeholders to provide sustainable sourcing solutions”.
