MoI to Take Part in Abu Dhabi Book International Fair with Five Cultural Activities on Tuesday

The Ministry of Interior will be hosting a cultural event on Tuesday with five different activities on the agenda, as a part of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2015 at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre (ADEC). The event is in response to the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who called for forging ahead and participating actively in spreading and exchanging the different cultural experiences and expertise, as well as exchanging knowledge between the different generations and people, with the aim of instilling a spirit of amity, love and peace.

Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior said: “Recognizing the importance of books as knowledge vessels and valuable means of achieving progress for nations and peoples, and out of its commitment to disseminating knowledge, the Ministry of Interior has been keen to participate annually in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.”  He added that during the cultural events organized by the police, winners of the second edition of the Minister of Interior's Scientific Research Award will be honored. Moreover, he noted that the Committee of the Minister of Interior’s Scientific Research Award has received 288 applications to participate in the second edition of the award, compared to 169 in the first edition; with 155 researchers taking part in the second edition, compared with 151 in last year’s edition. “This year’s edition of the award includes 38 collective researches, compared to 31 in the previous edition. 108 researches were approved and will be deliberated by a total of 134 arbitrators from 25 universities, academic entities and arbitral institutions,” continued Major General Al Nuaimi.

The Secretary General said that the award is a specialized cultural initiative by His Highness, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and serves the police and security work. It also provides the opportunity for all staff members to contribute to the development process of the police and security sector.

Adding further, Major General Al Nuaimi noted that His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Saif will be signing the book titled “The ABCs of Child Legal Education” that he will offering to a group of children. A documentary film about the book will be displayed in the background on a giant screen during the signing ceremony.

Furthermore, Major General Al Nuaimi will be signing a set of new publications with the top three winners in the Minister of Interior’s Scientific Research Award. The Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, represented by the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, will also be signing four MoUs with the Ministry of Education; the Knowledge and Human Development Authority; the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and the Abu Dhabi Media Company.

Towards the end of the MoI’s cultural event, the Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior will be offering copies of the police encyclopedia prepared by the Security Media Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, to the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs.
