Sub-Accounts for Using MoI Electronic and Smart Services

As Part of a New Mechanism for Public and Private Sectors

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, February 7th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

The Executive Office of the Ministry of Interior’s Smart Government Program is studying the possibility of creating sub-accounts for users of the ministry’s smart and electronic services in the public and private sectors. This could be realized by developing a new mechanism that enables both sectors to manage their businesses and services by creating trade license entities and sub-accounts that enjoy legal personality associated with the personality of the owner (business accounts). This will enable users to utilize and manage all electronic and smart services provided as per their activities and trade licenses. Additionally, they will be able to follow up with transactions and open new sub-accounts directly for their business representatives (sub persona)
Lt. Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shimmari, Executive Director of the MoI’s Smart Government Program and Director of the E-Auditing Department at the Security Support Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior said, “this step falls within the framework of the MoI’s efforts to encourage and improve usage rates of its services and develop innovative ones. This aims to enhance customer satisfaction by answering their needs and facilitating service delivery to public and private sectors anywhere, anytime. Business owners will have the power to assign representatives to finish these processes and follow up with various businesses. Business owners also have the ability to suspend representatives’ authority as per the work requirements.”

He also noted that the new mechanism will allow private sector businesses to manage the authorization process to enable finalizing transactions via their representatives. This is also applicable for representatives who have a specific power of attorney, allowing them to follow up with procedures via the electronic and smart MoI services platform. This is particularly beneficial at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector, Civil Defense Department, and Traffic and Patrols Department.

Additionally, he explained that the new mechanism serves the business sector, which is one of the key customers of the MoI. This sector benefits from a wide range of services from various sectors at the ministry. The business sector issues entry and work permit for their employees and their families, and cancels these permits, among other services from the Naturalization, Residency, and Ports Sector.

The Traffic and Licensing Sector provides a wide range of traffic services which enable the business sector to register vehicles, renew their registration, and pay fines, in addition to other services that the MoI continuously develops and provides via various police, civil defense, and correctional and punitive establishments.

Lt. Colonel Al Shimmari also stressed the commitment of the MoI’s Smart Government Program to review and develop all means of enhancing services. This is so customers can use the MoI services and follow up with related data and information and manage representatives’ power.
