Dubai-UAE, Monday, September 13th 2010 [ME NewsWire]:
TECOM Investments Media Cluster today announced a series of cultural awareness workshops for business partners for the purpose of facilitating a better understanding of social and cultural nuances to operate in the UAE’s multi-cultural business environment.
The first in the series of workshops will be held on 15 October at Dubai Knowledge Village Conference Centre and conducted by Taste UAE Consulting.
Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director, TECOM Investments Media Cluster, said: “The sessions are being organised as part of the Media Cluster’s efforts to add value to the services it provides to its business partners. In today’s competitive and challenging multi-cultural business environment, an understanding of the local culture in business practices and government regulations is vital to operate a business successfully. These sessions are targeted at improving the soft skills of TECOM Investments business partners and better equip them to conduct business in the UAE.”
Wafa Al Hamed, Consultant/Trainer and Cultural Matters Specialist at Taste UAE Consulting, will lead the sessions. The agenda will include an overview of the UAE’s culture, religious influences as well as social and business etiquette with tips and recommendations.
Wafa Al Hamed said: "My philosophy is founded on the firm belief that only individuals and organisations that make an effort to understand the cultural tapestry of a country and the sensitivities involved in dealing with multi-cultural situations will have an added advantage. We believe the workshops will immensely benefit the business partners at the TECOM Investments clusters."
TECOM Investments’ Media Cluster has under its umbrella Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, and the International Media Production Zone. The cluster is structured to leverage the core strengths of each entity through creating cross-functional synergies and efficiencies.
