(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Micromedics, Inc., a Nordson Company (NASDAQ: NDSN), has introduced a 15cc Graft Delivery Device, the first product in their new OsteoXpressTM line of bone grafting devices. These devices facilitate the mixing of bone graft material used in orthopedic surgical procedures. The product will be featured at Micromedics’ booth (#202) at the Society for Biomaterials Annual Meeting taking place April 13-16 in Orlando, FL.
The continued growth in the global orthopedic market is due to a number of factors, including the aging population, the increase of orthopedic surgery at an earlier age, physiological problems due to the increasing incidence of obesity, the development of better and longer-lasting implants and materials, as well as new procedures, in particular, minimally invasive procedures.*
Bone grafting materials are used to fill defects caused by trauma or surgical removal.The OsteoXpressGraft Delivery Device enables the surgical team to thoroughly and efficiently hydrate these materials for use in the operating room.

Target markets for the OsteoXpressGraft Delivery Device include spine, orthopedic, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and orthobiologics companies selling in those specialty areas.
