Cellocator Fleet Management Services Selects Cinterion
MUNICH - Thursday, March 15th 2012 [ME NewsWire]
Cinterion’s M2M Module Integrated in CelloFamily Products
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cinterion, the global leader in cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication modules and a Gemalto company (Euronext NL 0000400653 GTO), today announced that its BGS3module is now integrated in Cellocator’s CelloFamily advanced telematics solutions. Cellocator, a Pointer Telocation Division, (Nasdaq Capital Market: PNTR, Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange: PNTR), is a leading Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology provider with more than 750,000 units installed in over 55 countries. CelloFamily all-in-one, compact-sized products leverage Cinterion-powered communications with intelligent telematics to help fleet managers, insurance companies and car manufacturers optimize operations, increase vehicle security and improve driver safety.
CelloFamily products integrate the newest release of Cinterion’s solderable Land Grid Array (LGA) BGS3 module, which provides reliable Internet communication over cellular networks. The module’s sophisticated jamming detection enables enhanced security features and immediate alarm notification if communication interference is detected. In addition, its extremely low power consumption prolongs module use in the field, while the industrial grade operating temperature range ensures reliability in the most extreme environments. Combining ubiquitous GPS and Cinterion-powered cellular communications, CelloFamily fleet management solutions enable route planning, driver management, vehicle access control, event prioritization and other AVL services. Advanced CelloFamily solutions add leading-edge tools for vehicle security and recovery of stolen assets.
“CelloFamily products required a reliable module with advanced jamming detection that can be quickly integrated for mass market deployment,” said Norbert Muhrer, CEO, Cinterion. “Cinterion’s BGS3 offers an ideal feature set for secure telematics and its flexible solderable surface mounting enables precise process manufacturing with very little waste to help lower total cost of ownership for our customers.”
“To improve the efficiency of our solution, we selected Cinterion as our communications partner for its high quality modules with field proven reliability and for the company’s engineering know-how and support services that set them apart,” said Noam Cimand, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cellocator. “We look forward to expanding our partnership in the future by integrating Cinterion’s leading modules in additional Cellocator product lines.”
