Joint Visions to Promote Awareness of Vital Global Imperatives: Organizational Transformation and Corporate Consciousness
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- International Institute for Learning, Inc. is honored to announce that Gregory Balestrero, former President and CEO of PMI®, has joined IIL. He will advise on new program development attuned to Corporate Consciousness, Leadership, and Sustainability.
“All of us at IIL celebrate Greg’s arrival,” said E. LaVerne Johnson, IIL’s President, Founder and CEO. “He is a champion for project management and other effective business strategies, a visionary leader, and we are thrilled to have Greg as part of our global team.”
Mr. Balestrero comes to IIL after serving at PMI from 2002-2011. With a career spanning more than 40 years, his work has brought him to over 60 countries and has shaped his view of organizational purpose and global impact.
“From the very first time I shared my passion about the need for corporate change in 2005,” said Mr. Balestrero, “LaVerne Johnson made it clear that she believed in altering the consciousness of corporations – in making them accountable for their impact on the planet and on society. I know that I am joining an entire team of professionals committed to making this a reality."
With aligned visions, IIL aims to educate, promote and employ a larger business purpose -- one that integrates organizational and community values, while making proactive social awareness a priority. Through the new business models that result, companies will improve not only their internal and external images, but their bottom lines.
IIL Media, a new division of the company, will collaborate with Balestrero to spread this exciting, meaningful message through film and video. Mr. Balestrero is also authoring a book on the subject of Corporate Consciousness, to be published by IIL Publishing. Through this book and his work with IIL, he hopes to make more companies realize that their success, now and in the future, depends on their ability to embrace a positive and culturally-aware leadership role.
With his vast experience, Mr. Balestrero sees that the corporate landscape is changing. We can no longer view monetary gain as the number one success factor in business, but must adopt a new way of seeing the corporate role—in which business decisions affect more than immediate stakeholders, but all members of society.
