HONG KONG - Monday, September 10th 2012 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Since 2010, CARTES Asia has brought together market leaders from card manufacturing, payment, security, identification and mobility to present their latest and innovative solutions. For the first time in 2013, the co-located E-COMMERCE Asia event will extend the offer to products and solutions in digital and mobile marketing, e-commerce and m-commerce platforms, fulfillment and delivery. A joint sector will be dedicated to e-commerce and m-commerce payment solutions.
The potential of the online market in China is huge. iResearch estimated that the number of online shoppers rose to 193 million in 2012, accounting for 34% of China’s Internet population. It is expected that online shoppers will account for 50% of China’s Internet population in 2014. Online payment methods have benefited from this wide utilization, such as the launch of a new international Chinese yuan online payment service (China Payment Services) in September 2011, with the purpose of enabling e-commerce operators around the world to accept China Union Pay cards online.
Moreover, consulting firm McKinsey believes that China is currently at an inflection point with mobile payments set to become a $40 billion industry driven largely by digital content and ticketing, and that competition is going to become intense between banks, mobile operators and third party providers.
“Our visitors from the banking, telecom and retail industries will have a unique opportunity to discover innovative technologies from international and local exhibitors, and will benefit from the synergy with the co-located E-COMMERCE Asia event” says Isabelle Alfano, CARTES Events Director.
A comprehensive conference program will bring high-level educational content to the vast Chinese and Asian online business market. “Although, both Cartes Asia and E-commerce Asia will include their own conference tracks, a specific focus on digital solutions for commerce will be presented. Common visitors to the 2 shows will have an easy access to both exhibit floors and conference programmes” adds Jes Joo, E-commerce Asia Project Manager.
Comexposium, organizer of both CARTES Asia and E-commerce Asia, has the expertise with leading events in Europe (CARTES, E-Commerce Paris and E-Marketing Paris), a local presence with its Shanghai subsidiary, and a 3-year experience of an Asian launch in Hong Kong with CARTES Asia (venue, logistics, visitors, congress attendees, etc.)
The choice of launching the new event in Hong Kong was driven by the high level infrastructure offered to international exhibitors and visitors and a perfect location to approach the Chinese and other Asian markets.
