Mr. Bennaceur, the Founder and Chair of the American Tunisian Business Council, Announced Today the Formation of New Board of Directors

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mr. Sophien Bennaceur, an American Tunisian entrepreneur, leading a private equity firm with headquarters on Wall Street, NY-USA and also in Tunis-Tunisia, Mr. Bennaceur is the Founder and Chair of the American Tunisian Business Council, a New York city non-profit organization promoting bi-lateral economic relations between the United States of America and Tunisia. Amine Ben Ayed – Board Member

Mr. Ben Ayed is an MBA graduate from The University of Tampa with a Major in Finance and Quality Management. Mr. Ben Ayed is the Managing Director of Misfat Group, a leading company in the automotive industry in North Africa with other international operating business units. Misfat has a production rate exceeding twenty million filters per year, which allowed it not only to become a leader in the local market, but also to export more than 90% of its production, mainly to North American, European, Asian and African customers.

Kamel Jedidi– Board Member

Dr. Kamel Jedidi, is professor of Marketing at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York. He holds a bachelors in Economics from the Faculté des Sciences Economiques de Tunis, Tunisia, and Masters and Ph.D. degree in Marketing from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He has been teaching at Columbia University since 1987, where he has taught New Product Development, Marketing Research, and Marketing Strategy.

Imed Bennaceur – Board Member

Imed Bennaceur received a bachelors of Science in Applied Mechanics from Faculté des Sciences Tunis and later gained an associate degree from Brown Institute, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA in software development. Mr Bennaceur is currently the President of Convergence; an international management consulting services firm with primary focus in the financial services industry and with offices in New York and London. He has over eighteen years of experience as a practitioner in Information Technology and Consulting Services. His clients include JPMorgan Chase, American International Group-AIG, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, United Bank of Switzerland-UBS, Credit Suisse, Moody’s and Barclays Capital and RBS-Royal Bank of Scotland.

Mehdi Trabelsi– Board Member

Mr. Trabelsi received his MBA in finance from-George Washington University and a degree in economics from Hautes Etudes de Commerce from Lausanne University. Today, Mr. Trabelsi is the CEO of Omega Trading has the Distribution rights of four leading brands such as Lacoste, Gant, Nike and Le Coq Sportif. Mehdi Trabelsi is leading a new initiative in hospitality management and tourism. He is building over two hundred Luxury villas constructing a top of the line beach resort with an established American hospitality management brand.

In the interest of transparency and good governance, the council is now working on securing the United States Board members and will be announced in the weeks to come. The council also announced today three key major initiatives that are being currently discussed with Civil Society, Government Institutions and the Private Sectors.
