On the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the passing of HH Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Juveniles Care Center at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ organized on Sunday an event to mark the “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work”, in Al Mafraq region, with the participation of Sharjah Juveniles Care Center.
Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Nehkairah, Head of Human Rights Department in the Ministry of Interior, and Chairman of the Juveniles Care Center Steering Committee stressed that the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan will remain a symbol of charity and humanitarian work. “We have chosen to dedicate this day, which marks the death anniversary of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as the “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work”, out of our love and gratitude to the founding father of the UAE,” he stated.
“The event organized by the Juveniles Care Center in Abu Dhabi Police with the participation of Sharjah Juveniles Care Center aims to promote the values of philanthropy and benevolence established by HH Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and to remind young generations with his humanitarian efforts”, added Brigadier Nehkairah.
The celebrations featured various shows and activities including a lecture titled “Benevolent Deeds”, recalling the humanitarian legacy of Sheikh Zayed. The lecture was delivered by a preacher from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. Moreover a documentary film narrating Sheikh Zayed’s life. The celebrations at Al Mafraq Juvenile Care Center at Abu Dhabi Police marking the “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work” also included national, heritage and cultural competitions. The festive celebrations events continued in an atmosphere full of sports competitions marked with rivalry and parity. It is noteworthy that the events will continue throughout the month of Ramadan at Al Mafraq Juveniles Care Center at Abu Dhabi Police.
At the end of the the “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work” celebrations, Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Nehkairah, Head of Human Rights Department in the Ministry of Interior, and Chairman of the Al Mafraq Juveniles Care Center Steering Committee at Abu Dhabi Police honored the guests, the juveniles participants and officials, and offered them commemorative gifts.
The ceremony was attended by Colonel Dr. Abdullah Muhammed Bu Hindi, Director of Center; Colonel Obeid Khamis Al Kaabi, from the Ministry of Interior; and Lieutenant Colonel Hamdan Al Shehhi, Member of the Committee for the Development of the Juveniles Care Center; as well as a number of officers and supervisors
