The second phase of the “Police Friends” summer program organized by the Sports Clubs and Activities Department at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers Club kicked off with the participation of 50 officers’ children.
Colonel Saif Al Shamsi, Head of Sports Clubs and Activities Department at Abu Dhabi Police, underscored the keenness of Abu Dhabi Police to organize a number of programs, societal cultural events for officers’ children at the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. This comes in line with the ministry and police leadership’s commitment to fill the officers’ children’s leisure time during the vacation with useful activities, with a view to produce an educated generation, well aware of the importance of development and excellence in society.
He added that such events allow students to get acquainted with the various police entities and the nature of their fathers’ work in servicing and protecting society. “Additionally, children will enjoy entertaining atmospheres during the recreational and sports activities that are organized by the department,” he continued.
Al Shamsi pointed out that a total of 50 male and female students aged between 7 and 13 years enrolled in the second phase of the “Police Friends” summer program. Concluding, he indicated that the program will run until August 28, and will include training on a number of life skills, handicrafts and swimming.
