Community Police Urges School Bus Supervisors to Pay Attention to Students for their Safety
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, September 5th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
In collaboration with Emirates Transport, the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police organized an awareness-raising lecture for female school bus supervisors. The lecture aims at educating supervisors on the means to maintain the safety of students, how to deal with them on the bus, and the optimal ways of exiting and boarding the bus.
The lecture, titled “Students’ Safety is Everyone's Responsibility”, was held at Al Mustaqbal School in Abu Dhabi, and delivered by Major Ahmed Gharib Al Mansouri, Head of the Awareness Department at the Community Police. Major Al Mansouri tackled several topics on the need to pay attention to students since they board the bus from the designated locations, until they get to school. He also shed light on the means to deal with students; the proper seating on the bus, as well as the best ways to board and exit the bus.
Al Mansouri underscored the need for female school bus supervisors to be vigilant and pay attention to students. He also urged them to abide by good morals and carry out their job efficiently, so as to educate students about ethics and ethical conduct.
“The supervisor needs to be role model for students, as they tend to follow her lead and comply with her directives on the bus. They also need to constantly communicate with students’ families and school administrations, to shed light on the negative behaviors commonly practiced by students on the bus, in order to curtail them,” added Colonel Al Mansouri.
As part of the lecture, Sheikh Hassan Al Dsouki called on female supervisors to urge both male and female students to show good behavior, abide with good morals; and observe the laws and regulations that govern the work of school buses’ supervisors, who are guardians of those students.
Media figure, journalist Jassem Obeid hosted the lecture. He extended his congratulations to the supervisors and to the management of Emirates Transport on the beginning of the new school year 2013/2014, wishing success to all.
Attending the lecture, on behalf of Emirates Transport were Abdel Salam Al Wahidi, Director of the Musaffah Station, and Hussein Al Menhali, Coordinator of Musaffah Traffic.
