The Police Band Participates in the FanZone Activities on the Corniche

The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band performed a number of its national and traditional music pieces during the FanZone Exhibition. The exhibition, launched by the Abu Dhabi Police on the Capital’s Corniche, underlines the importance of promoting traffic awareness, given that “road safety is everyone's responsibility”.
The Band toured the Exhibition site performing a number of its distinguished songs, which were highly acclaimed by visitors and tourists alike. The participation of the band coincides with its Golden Jubilee celebrations, and reflects its institutional values, and strategic thinking to support partnerships and continuous interaction with community members.
The exhibition is part of the awareness campaign launched by the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior under the slogan “The Road Has its Ethics and Speed has its Track”. It is also part of the current preparations ahead of the “Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix,” which will be hosted at Yas Marina Circuit on November 1st, 2013.
Colonel Waleed Salem Al Shamesi, Head of the Police Schools Department at Abu Dhabi Police noted that the band performed high quality pieces, showcasing its outstanding skills and abilities that wowed the audience.
He stressed the Abu Dhabi Police Band commitment to document important events during its journey that exceeds 50 years, and to promote its principles that call for taking pride in the police and strengthening loyalty and belonging among all police staff. He continued. “The Police, as a national institution, seeks to maintain its historical legacy and cherishes its background and stages of development; out of its firm belief that today’s achievements are a complement to several interrelated stages, and a result of the efforts of successive generations of citizens who have worked for the good of the nation, since the establishment of the Union,” indicated Al Shamesi.
The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band continues to perform its national and traditional music for the public, as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations to mark its establishment in July 1963. The celebrations, which started on July 13 will run until December, to mark the UAE National Day.
The “FanZone” Activities take place daily starting at 5 pm until 11 pm, and will run till November 2nd, with the participation of the Security Media Department. The Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate will also partake in the activities with its renowned Education Patrol.
As part of the exhibition, the Abu Dhabi Police will distribute awareness-raising pamphlets and publications. It will also showcase the auto simulation show, to acquaint visitors with safe driving methods. The Smart car will also be there to educate children above the age of 10 years about road and safety rules and regulations.
