To mark the UAE 42nd National Day, the Law Respect Culture Bureau will be launching a law-themed wall mural project at the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The mural is intended to allow people to express their views and impressions on the law and how laws are applied to them.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of Law Respect Culture Bureau indicated that this legal questionnaire is a first-of-its-kind concept that brings together art and law as an effective tool to change people’s wrong perceptions of the law.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Ghoul urged all citizens to take part in this project, to express their views on the law and its role in achieving security and stability in the community and protecting the interests and freedoms of individuals. “This mural provides the opportunity for people to spontaneously describe how they perceive the role of each member of society in instilling the law respect culture, and supporting law enforcement agencies to assume their responsibility in protecting both individuals and communities. They can do so freely, and are only required to respect the morals and values of the Emirati community,” stressed Al Ghoul.
Concluding, Lt. Colonel Al Ghoul added: “The Bureau’s experts will process and analyze the graffiti and paintings on the mural, to examine the views of individuals on this issue. The mural will constitute material for a scientific study conducted by the Bureau to determine its legal approach.”
