The Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments concluded the activities of GCC Unified Inmates’ Week at the Bawabat Al Sharq in Baniyas. The event, which was held under the theme “Lead me to a Better Future”, was attended by a wide variety of people, including a number of officials and supporting bodies.
Colonel Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi, Head of the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department at Abu Dhabi Police stated that the participation of different departments and sectors, which included the Medical Services Department, Saeed Society, the Anti-Narcotics Federal Directorate General, the Social Support Centers Department, the Community Police, and the Emergency and Public Safety Department, has played a major role in attracting the public’s attention. This was aided by the various lectures and educational contests that took place. He also pointed out the public’s awareness of ADP’s services, which the public have grown to love and trust.
The activities that took place at the GCC Unified Inmates’ Week have received a great amount of appreciation from participants. The Emirati artist, Rania, performed two songs about the love of the nation and its role in supporting Emiratis, in addition to meaningful children’s songs. The Security Inspection Department (K9) also performed a police dog show and held a balloon contest, which helped put a smile on children’s faces. The Faraj Fund and other partners participated in the educational competitions and distributed valuable gifts, as they were the main patrons of this great event. Hamda Al Juneibi, aged 4 months, was the youngest participant and winner.
On her part, Major Mona Khalifa, Administrative Affairs Branch Manager at the Punitive and Correctional Establishments, expressed her gratitude to the public for their essential role in the success of the ceremony. Furthermore, she praised the supporting bodies for their effective cooperation, which lead to the accomplishment of the police force’s goals. She also thanked them for their support of the police force’s ongoing efforts to bring excellence to public services.
These events, which were sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and the Faraj Fund, coincided with the launch of several other social, educational, sports and occupational programs established for the inmates of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments. Field trips were also made to a number of GCC countries, which allowed the Punitive and Correctional Establishments’ employees to share their experiences and exchange information.
