ADP Traffic and Patrols Directorate Increases Monitoring during New Year Holiday
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, December 29th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
As the New Year holiday and celebrations approach, the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate is increasing its surveillance of internal and external roads. This initiative aims to make motorists abide by the traffic laws, and aims to eliminate the causes of accidents. The increase in surveillance also helps prevent noise disturbances and any behaviors that may impede traffic flow.
Colonel Khamis Isaaq, Deputy Director of the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, has encouraged all motorists to abide by the speed limits during the New Year celebrations, especially late at night and in the early hours of the morning. He also urged motorists to cooperate with the police and take safety precautions for their own safety and for the safety of others.
Colonel Isaaq also mentioned that the contributing factors that led to accidents last year included speeding, lack of attention while driving, red light violations, sudden turning, negligence, and not paying attention to pedestrians at crossings.
