BIC Taps Into the Region's Creativity

The iconic pen launches a regional competition to revive creative writing amongst school children

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, December 24th 2013

BIC, the creators of the BIC Cristal® iconic ball point pen is reaching out to the region’s school children in a bid to spark their creative abilities and re-ignite their bond with the art form of creative writing, over the next three months.

BIC will distribute more than half a million pens along with competition postcards to schools in Kuwait and Qatar. Through the information listed on the postcards, children will be able to register on the microsite to enter the online slogan writing contest.

“We strongly believe that fostering creative abilities in children should begin at an early age, and what better way to begin than when they are at school. Creative writing is not only fun, but also an important life skill, it offers an outlet for self-expression as well as enhances social skills involving observation, collaboration and communication”, said Rob Maddock, General Manager – Middle East & South Asia. “Through this initiative, BIC aims to encourage each child by giving them an opportunity to participate in an educational and fun environment by coming up with inventive slogans on writing,” he added.

Each child can participate in the ‘BIC slogan writing competition’ by registering their name, email address and requisite details on the competition microsite (www.bic-slogan.com). On submission of all details, participants can upload their BIC slogan. This competition will run for a period of three months in Kuwait and Qatar, with names of winners announced every week. The winning slogans will be featured on the BIC microsite along with the name of the school being represented.
