Within the Initiative to Display the Largest Statistical Map of the Emirate

Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police visited on Monday, the Abu Dhabi Police exhibition of old and modern photos. This exhibition, held for the first time on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, takes place within the Statistics Center-Abu Dhabi’s initiative to display the world’s largest statistical map charting the growth of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to mark the UAE 42nd National Day.
The Director General of Finance and Services called for redoubled efforts to highlight the participation of Abu Dhabi Police in this event, which sheds light on the Abu Dhabi Police’s myriad achievements throughout its development journey. Major General Badran also reiterated the support of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for this initiative that embodies the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s strategy to communicate with various segments of society and provide quality services to the public.
Major General Badran also emphasized the importance of interacting with the various society segments and individuals and to acquaint them with the Abu Dhabi Police’s achievements through exhibitions. “Such exhibitions foster direct communication and boosts mutual trust and cooperation between the Abu Dhabi Police and the different sectors of the community and the public in general. This is one of the most important strategic objectives of the Abu Dhabi Police, and is in pursuance of the directives issued by the higher leadership to instill modern concepts of police work and promote its social role,” concluded Badran.
During the visit, Major General Badran signed the Abu Dhabi Police guestbook: “The male and female Police officers, non-commissioned officers and constables who organized and oversaw this exhibition are motivated by loyalty to the leadership, combined with a sense of affiliation to the homeland and allegiance to their second home, the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, which they served faithfully during their long years of service. I would like to express my thanks and gratitude for their efforts, namely Colonel Saif Al Shamesi and Afra’ Al Muhairi who already took part in major exhibitions throughout the world.”
The Director General of Finance and Services reviewed the Statistical Map of Abu Dhabi, which documents the establishment of the Union and the various stages of the Emirate’s growth over the decades in various areas, aimed at achieving the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
Colonel Saif Al Shamesi, Chief of the Cultural and Social Activities Section at the Clubs Department of the Abu Dhabi Police indicated that the old and modern photos exhibition reviews the history of the Abu Dhabi Police since its inception in 1957 to present day, as well as its former and modern patrols and logos.
The exhibition acquaints visitors with the evolution stages of the Abu Dhabi Police. On display are old equipment, uniforms, and communications equipment, in addition to other old tools and vehicles used by police officers in the early stages of its establishment. The exhibition also features some of the various modern techniques and services presently provided by the Abu Dhabi Police, which clearly showcase the extent of progress achieved by the Abu Dhabi Police. Moreover, the photo gallery features a rare set of old photos documenting the historic stage of the evolution of the Abu Dhabi Police.
It is noteworthy that the statistical map of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is created by the Statistics Center- Abu Dhabi (SCAD) and the Abu Dhabi Police as strategic partners, and is being carried out in cooperation with a number of government and private institutions. It gives a “very clear, accurate and encyclopedic image” of Abu Dhabi year by year and highlights all sectors using statistics, figures, shapes, images and drawings from 1960 to 2010. An additional futuristic part of the map will be dedicated to the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030; suggesting how the emirate is likely to look in the future, informed in part by Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
