To mark the UAE’s 42nd National Day, Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs said in a speech:
The 2nd of December 1971 is a timeless date in the history of the UAE. This is the day of truth, marking the march of development, generosity, and kindness; which was led by the founder of the Union, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God have mercy upon his soul) who further elevated the UAE’s status to world-class levels. On this day, more than four decades ago, the Union embarked on a journey of development led by with the wisdom of HH Sheikh Khalifa and his brethren, their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, who endeavored to overcome all obstacles and pursue the path of progress, development, and security. Throughout 42 years, our nation has been able to position itself amongst the most developed countries; this is evident across the emirates of the State that have witnessed increasing growth and prosperity in all aspects of economic, social, and political life.
The progress and development achieved by our country were brought to fruition thanks to the leadership’s unstinting support over the years, and earned our country the leading prestigious status on the international scene, which makes us proud day after day. We consider ourselves lucky to belong to this generous country “the country of goodness and benevolence”. Congratulations to the renaissance builder and founder, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, (May God have mercy upon his soul) and to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who pursued the same path of progress and development and continued the march of goodness in all fields, making the UAE an oasis of security and stability for both citizens and residents.
The diligent unrelenting support of our leadership has been instrumental to the development of the Ministry of Interior. This support allowed the ministry to bag several awards on both regional and international levels. We reaffirm our commitment and loyalty towards our country and leaders, wishing our beloved State further success and progress to attain the highest levels among other countries.
Over the past few years, the Ministry of Interior has racked up myriad achievements up to standard with its entrusted tasks. This contributed to establishing a modern police institution with a strategic vision that keeps pace with the rapid changes and developments taking place in the contemporary world. Moreover, following-up on potential security issues enabled the ministry to respond efficiently and combat all sorts of crime, and maintain security for all members and institutions of society.
We take immense pride in our country’s achievements in the security field. This was achieved according to the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior who constantly reviews the development achieved by the police entities, which keep pace of all security developments, as per a comprehensive police strategy focused on achieving excellence in performance and providing the best security services. The strategy also attaches great importance to aspects related to the human cadre and financial resources that lead to the desired results.
Concluding, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and blessings to our leadership and to the people of the UAE, praying Allah Almighty to keep it strong, secure, and stable under the banner of its generous and caring leadership.
