Abu Dhabi Residency Commends Efforts of Zayed Agricultural Center in Rehabilitating People with Special Needs

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, March 27th 2014

A delegation from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, headed by Captain Majid Abdullah Al Tamimi, Chief of Media and Public Relations Section, visited Zayed Agricultural Center for Development and Rehabilitation in Abu Dhabi, which is part  of the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care. They were received by Engineer Mohamed Saif Al Arifi, the center’s director, and a number of officials.

Eng. Mohamed Al Arifi presented a brief explanation about the Zayed Higher Organization, its history, the services it provides, and the government’s efforts to support it, as well as the number of people benefiting from it. He pointed out the Zayed Higher Organization’s quest to provide the finest and latest methods of care and rehabilitation, based on the higher authorities’ instructions, and to attract the best international expertise to work at the organization. He also gave a brief explanation about the Zayed Agricultural Center’s history and the services it provides.

The delegation took a tour of the center, accompanied by Al Arifi and Eng. Khawla Al Dahmani, where they viewed the mechanical and general maintenance workshops, the agricultural production division, the Aquaponics division, animal production division, and the packing and canning division.

Captain Majid Al Tamimi praised the efforts of the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care in particular, for providing all requirements of care and attention, rehabilitation for people with special needs, and making sure to provide these people with access to the latest innovations in technology from around the world.

He also expressed his extreme admiration of the existing projects carried out by the center, pointing out that it reflects the extent of care of the government to provide these people with rehabilitation and health services. He considered the center to be a unique project because of the agricultural techniques used.

The delegation from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi consisted of Lt. Mohammad Saeed Al Kaabi, First Warrant Officer Khaled Abdul Rahim Al Ahmedi, First Warrant Officer Mohamed Ahmed Al Zaabi, and Sergeant Abdulla Yousef Al Ahmedi.

The visit comes within the keenness of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi to enhance cooperation and communication with all institutions of society and provide services to them wherever they may be; in order to facilitate and simplify procedures, relieve suffering, and save time and effort for them.

The center plays a leading role in integrating its special needs students in social and productive life, by rehabilitating them and investing their energy and potential, as well as raising health and social awareness, to raise their professional competency.
