Experts hail the hospitality and professional organization of the event

The
activities of the International Conference for Security and National
Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014) held under the patronage of His
Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and
Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council have concluded on Thursday
evening. The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh
Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman
of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, was officially inaugurated by Lt.
General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Interior on Tuesday morning. A total of 433
exhibiting companies from 40 countries took part in the global event,
which also hosted 150 high-level official delegations and government
buyers from 20 countries.
The 6th edition of ISNR witnessed the
participation of 60 lecturers who are world-renowned experts in fields
of security and safety, who took part in the 1st International
Conference on Security Challenges, the 1st Occupational Safety and
Health Conference and the 5th International Cyber Crimes Conference.
The
ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014 and the two co-located exhibitions i.e. the Fire
& Emergency Middle East (FEME) and the Occupational Safety and
Health Middle East (OSH ME), have attracted nearly 17,000 visitors from
public and private sectors in 87 countries.
At the closing
ceremony, Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Higher
Organizing Committee of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014 extended his deepest thanks
and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his
generous sponsorship, and to Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for his
unlimited support and successful follow-up. He also thanked all entities
and sectors that helped to making the ISNR activities a success.
Major
General Al Ketbi also expressed his heartfelt thanks to exhibitors who
enriched this event with the latest products, equipment and devices; and
to all speakers at the conference, who had a positive scientific impact
on the deliberations and discussions of urgent issues that yielded
beneficial results.

witnessed a wide and remarkable turnout of people from different age
groups and nationalities, with the number of visitors exceeding 15,000.

Various activities
ISNR Abu
Dhabi 2014 included a set of key activities, namely; the
6thInternational Conference for Security and National Resilience (ISNR
Abu Dhabi 2014); the 1st International Conference on Security Challenges
(ICSC); the “Aftershock” live demonstration on responding to crises and
emergencies; the 1stthe Fire & Emergency Middle East (FEME); the
1st UAE International Firefighter Challenge; the 1stOccupational Safety
and Health Middle East (OSH ME); and the 5thInternational Cyber Crimes
Conference.
The 6th ISNR edition is considered one of the most
successful specialized conferences in national security and resilience,
after achieving record numbers of visitors, and international and local
participants.
Representatives of exhibiting companies hailed the
event’s high level of organization, which allowed them to meet a large
number of official and commercial delegations from the UAE, the Middle
East and the world. They attributed the unprecedented success of the
event to a number of factors, such as the area expansion compared to the
previous edition, the targeted categories, the high quality of
exhibiting companies, the ease of access to exhibitors’ pavilions and
their distribution in specialized halls.
Bernard Refalo, Deputy
Managing Director of GICAT, a French company specialized in crowd
control technologies, said that the exhibition’s high level of
professional organization has earned it the reputation of being one of
the top five mega global events worldwide. He noted that the event has
yielded positive results and attracted a large number of buyers. He

the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs aims to encourage German
companies to introduce their security and technology products to the
Middle East markets and build commercial ties with them. She explained
that the German companies’ pavilions participating in the event, under
the umbrella of the Bureau for International Business Relations, have
attracted official delegations from different countries. She expressed
her admiration of the distinguished and professional organization level
of the event, especially the opening ceremony that exceeded her
expectations.

Al Ketbi Honors heads of delegations participating in the Exhibition
The
Higher Organizing Committee of the International Exhibition for
Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014), hosted a dinner
banquet on Tuesday evening in honor of the heads of delegations,
exhibitors and participants at the exhibition. The banquet was held at
the Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi.
The ceremony was attended by Major
General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the ISNR’s Higher
Organizing Committee; Frederic Theux, President, Reed Exhibitions Middle
East, ; Brigadier Saeed Salim Al Henki, Director General of Finance
& Support Services, Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the
Scientific Committee of the International Conference on Security
Challenges; heads of delegations; exhibitors; and a big number of police
officers.
Major General Al Ketbi delivered a speech, by which he
welcomed the attendees. He said: “This gathering provides the proper
opportunity to exchange friendly conversations and strengthen relations
and fruitful cooperation for the benefit of all parties.” Al Ketbi
conveyed the greetings of the police leadership, and their good wishes
for them to enjoy a pleasant stay in their second home, the United Arab
Emirates.

The “Aftershock” Live demonstration on responding to crises and emergencies for school students
The
audience held their breath while watching the “Aftershock” live
demonstration, which was held as part of the activities of the ISNR Abu
Dhabi 2014, at ADNEC’s theatre. Students, along with many others in
attendance, expressed awe and delight for the thrilling sound effects
that made them feel at the heart of the event.
Mohammed Musbah,
IT teacher, Al yahar Private School, Al Ain City, said: “The show that
we have witnessed today demonstrates the emergency preparedness of the
Ministry of Interior during earthquakes that no one can predict.”
Hisham
Mohammed Taha, student, 7th grade, Al Yahar School, said: “As students,
we learned how to deal with crises situations. We also learned the
importance of helping police members during rescue missions. We were
thrilled by the speed with which firefighters were able to extinguish
fires, and we were amazed by the modern equipment and the field
hospital.”
Suleiman Saeed Al Shamesi, search and rescue pilot;
expressed his happiness with the police’s readiness and cooperation
during the show. He said: “The show was highly acclaimed by the
audiences from all walks of life. The show felt extremely real, thanks
to the amazing sound effects coupled with interaction between the
various participating entities. The action scenes, which featured
intervention of the police, ambulance, search and rescue teams and
police sniffer dogs, reflected the high level of readiness and
demonstrate high-quality training and cooperation among all security
members.”
For her part, Nabila Hadi, businesswoman, praised the
organization and discipline of Abu Dhabi Police staff members in quickly
responding to all events and providing first aid at the accident site.

Police staff members and operations room, in responding to every call.
UAE International Firefighter Challenge
Lieutenant
Colonel Expert Hussein Al Rahoomi, from the Dubai Civil Defense
General Directorate and Chairman of the UAE International Firefighter
Challenge Committee, said that the team representing the UAE in this
championship comprised a total of 23 firefighters, including 8 women. He
also said that 155 firefighters from 13 countries also took part in the
championship.
“The equipment and tools related to the civil
defense exhibited at ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014 are fast, light and comply with
safety standards and regulations,” Al Rahoomi explained.

Deputy General Commander of Abu Dhabi Police visits ISNR Exhibition pavilions
His
Excellency Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Deputy General Commander of
Abu Dhabi Police, toured a number of pavilions at the exhibition. He
praised the state-of-the-art security and public safety tools and
equipment, and viewed the latest devices, systems and technologies
showcased by the exhibiting manufacturing companies, which meet the
needs of decision-makers, and provide an integrated system for policing
and security sectors.
While inspecting the local companies’
pavilions participating in the exhibition, Al Rumaithi expressed his
delight with the significant progress in terms of aligning the growing
needs for advanced technologies in the region and what the local
companies are providing to meet the regional market’s demands.

for Traffic Systems signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai
Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon
Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park. The memorandum
aims to promote bilateral cooperation in leveraging the latest
innovative technologies, smart traffic systems, security systems,
automated security controls, and spreading of traffic safety awareness, .

Ibrahim Al Raml, CEO of “Saaed” for Traffic Systems, and Dr. Juma Al
Matrooshi Executive Vice President – Commercial, Dubai Silicon Oasis
Authority signed the MoU in the presence of Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed
Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi
Police and Chairman of Saaed for Traffic Systems, during the
International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu
Dhabi 2014), which is held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Center
between 1st and 3rd of April 2014.
According to the agreement,
both parties would exchange views and expertise in several fields,
including highway bus system, a blueprint for Intelligent Transport
Systems, the highway bus network, electronic toll systems,
infrastructure management of traffic congestion, and other related
issues.
Commenting on the importance of the agreement, Brigadier
Eng. Hussein Al Harithi said: “This MoU aims to promote mutual
cooperation between the two parties, from the development of innovative
technologies, all the way to leveraging the security control and smart
traffic systems developed locally by ’Saaed’, as well as in raising
traffic awareness and improving transportation in general.”
For
his part Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi stated that: “The signing of this MoU
with ‘Saaed’ falls within the authority’s policy of working with
competent entities and experts to develop the technology sectors with
regard to security and transportation. We, at the Dubai Silicon Oasis
Authority (DSOA), are confident that the success attained by ‘Saaed’ as a
national company, will guarantee a permanent and fruitful cooperation
between us. We are delighted to be able to provide ‘Saaed’ with full
cooperation through the Silicon Oasis technological incubator, which
would help to developing advanced technologies that contribute to
increase road security and benefit the society as a whole.”

400 school students from across the UAE attended the live demonstrations at “ISNR”
More
than 400 students from various schools across the country have attended
“The Aftershock” live demonstration on responding to crisis and
emergencies at the International Exhibition for Security and National
Resilience “ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014”. They also attended the K9 police
sniffer dogs’ performances, as well as the UAE International
Firefighting Challenge (The Future Firefighter Award for students).
The
students expressed their happiness with the demonstrations, praising
the remarkable role played by the Ministry of Interior and the different
police bodies with a view to raise their awareness about potential
dangers and provide them with protection.
Student Hamid Al Shamsi
said that the exhibition reflects the prestigious status achieved by
the UAE by reinforcing security and stability for all citizens,
residents, and visitors. Student Mohamed Abdulla Al Oud concurred with
his colleague, saying that the shows consolidate the positive relation
between the public and police members, and promotes appreciation for
their efforts in the service of this country.

More than 450 visitors watched the K9 Police Dog shows
The
Security Inspection Department (K9) at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ presented
film screenings and live shows for visitors of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014
Exhibition and Conference. The K9 police sniffer dogs’ performances were
highly acclaimed by the more than 450 visitors who attended the
exhibition. Colonel Jamal Habash, Head of the Security Inspection
Department (K9), said that the department scheduled screenings of
documentary films about palm weevil infestations and the efforts of the
K9 Department in areas of search and rescue to the public, at the
Ministry of Interior’s pavilion.
For his part, Lieutenant
Mohammed Al Azizi, from the Security Inspection Department (K9) said
that the entertaining shows, which included tug of war competitions,
balloons contests, as well as drug and explosives detection and
anti-riot drills; were highly applauded by the audience. He added: “We
are constantly keen to acquaint the public with the vital role played by
the K9 department and its various activities. We also strive to spread
awareness and highlight the tasks pertaining to community protection.”
In
conclusion, Lieutenant Al Azizi noted that children enjoyed the hurdles
jumping show and were keen to have their photo taken with the dogs.
