ADP Central Operations Wins Arab Excellence Award for Social Responsibility

The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, represented by the Directorate General of Central Operations, won the Excellence Award for social responsibility from the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility, in recognition of the directorate’s efforts in applying community development practices and advancing communities in which it operates.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, indicated that winning the award is a result of the UAE’s approach and diligent efforts to position itself amongst the top countries in security and safety. This is done in pursuance of the Ministry of Interior’s vision to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world in terms of security and safety. He also pointed out that Abu Dhabi Police’s achievement of winning this award was made possible due to the instructions and support provided by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in enhancing excellence in social responsibility.
Major General Al Raisi added, “Obtaining this award increases our responsibility towards society. We are facing two significant challenges, first of which is to maintain what we have achieved and redouble efforts in quality and quantity. Moreover, we will continue at a faster pace, maintain quality and excellence in order to achieve the community’s objectives, and enhance the concept of social responsibility up to the level of the strategic concept.”
It is worth mentioning that the achievement of the Central Operations Department by winning the award came as a result of the services and community-based initiatives it provides. In particular: the ambulance service for community members and private institutions; the rescue service; the 5999 service for people with special needs; the safe 999 service for fire alarms; the vehicles and drivers licensing services, by launching offices at ADNOC service stations and car dealerships; the smart electronic services and  the “Sahel” e-payment machine services that are available in shopping malls and Government institutions; and lastly for the initiative (for the technically conscious generation) which aims to educate school and university students on uses and risks of technology.
Lt. Colonel Zayed Muhammed Al Hajiri and Captain Nasser Abdullah Al Saadi from Abu Dhabi Police had received the Golden Shield Award and the Certificate of Excellence on behalf of HE Director General of Central Operations, during the organization’s annual award ceremony, which was recently held at the Burj al Arab in Dubai.
The Arab Organization for Social Responsibility aims to raise the level of engagement with the concept of social responsibility and adapt it on the local level. It also aims to instill and promote this strategic concept in the work of Arab municipalities, governments, and companies with prudent management and the dissemination of the social responsibility culture through all available means.
It also aims to encourage civil societies to engage in social responsibilities and establish principles and instruments that guarantee the improvement and development of the work done through social responsibilities. They also aim to: support programs set up to achieve sustainable development and seek to highlight the Arab governments’  vision in the area of social responsibility; connect them through a single electronic network to support their aspirations; facilitate communication; honor official and governmental institutions that have obtained international quality certificates in the area of social responsibility;  and to additionally honor leaders from various sectors who have made achievements and initiatives in the areas of social responsibility.
Moreover, the award encourages the public and private sectors, "Government and private institutions,” to acknowledge their efforts in the area of social responsibility and to highlight their roles in sustainable development, environmental protection, community service through participation in awareness activities, supporting the economy, and in achieving the objectives of development and teamwork.
For his part, Pierre Moukarzel, President of the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility noted that the Excellence Award, in its fourth edition, is aimed at honoring the institutions, public and private sectors in all member states of the Arab League, that have made initiatives and achievements in the field of social responsibility and contributed to the support of local communities in all areas.
Furthermore, he praised the role of the Directorate General of Central Operations in reinforcing the principles of social responsibility; spreading and implementing the concept of sustainability, environment, occupational health and safety systems; and adopting several policies and initiatives as an enabler in order to implement the concept of social responsibility. Concluding, Moukarzel wished the entire directorate’s staff members the best of luck and success.
