With Traffic Jams Occurring Near Mosques
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, July 24th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Al Ain Traffic Section affiliated with the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police has warned motorists against the risks of parking at roundabouts; particularly near mosques that are crowded which could hinder traffic movement and cause traffic accidents.
Major Matar Mohamed Al Muhairi, Acting Chief of Al Ain Traffic Section, called upon motorists to abide by traffic laws and regulations while performing prayers in the last ten days of Ramadan and to benefit from the spiritual meanings of the Holy Month by paying attention to the rights of other people who share the road. He urged them not to park their vehicles haphazardly, to avoid blocking entrances or other vehicles by parking directly behind them, and to follow the instructions of traffic policemen.
He also stressed the importance of following traffic laws and regulations, reducing speed before Sunset Prayer, refraining from running red lights, paying attention while driving, using seat belt, refraining from using mobile phones while driving, maintaining sufficient distance between vehicles, and remaining watchful on the roads to avoid any unexpected occurrences.
For his part, First Lieutenant Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, Public Relations Branch Manager at Al Ain Traffic Section, noted that in coordination with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the branch has warned motorists against parking their vehicles randomly and recklessly around mosques especially during the prayers at night.
