Afghani Delegation Review Abu Dhabi Police Customer Service Experience

They Expressed Admiration for the Distinguished Methods Employed

An Afghan Ministry of Interior delegation reviewed the high-end policing experience of Abu Dhabi Police, and the various services they provide to streamline customers’ procedures. Members of the delegation expressed their admiration for the distinguished level attained in the services provision.

The delegation, headed by Masood Ahmed Azizi, Deputy Minister for Strategy and Policy at the Ministry of Interior in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, was given an overview of the services provided by a number of police entities. During their visit to the Directorate General of Central Operations, the delegation met Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director of the Department and toured the department’s various sections, where they reviewed the work processes and the services provided to promote policing work in the service of society.

The delegation was also briefed on the work procedures at these sections and at the operations’ room, which is fitted with the best modern techniques and equipment, so as to ensure high-quality services to the public; speed up response time and handle and classify phone notifications.

The delegation met Lt. Colonel Nasser Suleiman Al Maskari, Head of the Operations Department at Abu Dhabi Police, who delved on the work mechanisms adopted by the department and the Operations Room, and highlighted the means used to develop these processes, in accordance with the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to promote security and stability.

The delegation also met Colonel Mohamed Mayouf Al Ketbi, Head of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, and reviewed the services provided by the department in issuing and renewing driving licenses, performing technical inspections, the mobile smart services, and the different stages of development at the department by introducing advanced methods to streamline customer services.

In the same context, the Afghani delegation visited the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, and reviewed the Abu Dhabi Police experience with traffic systems. The delegation met Colonel Khamis Ishaq Mohammed, Deputy Director of the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, as well as Colonel Khalifa Mohammed AL Khaili, Head of Traffic and Road Safety Engineering Department; Colonel Hamad Mubarak bin Athath Al Ameri, Head of the Capital’s Traffic Department; Colonel Ahmed Abdullah Al Shehhi, Chief of the Support Services Section and a number of officers.

The visiting delegation reviewed the organizational structure of the Directorate and the traffic safety strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police. They were also briefed on the efforts exerted to develop the smart traffic system, which resulted in a 33 percent decrease in traffic accidents; 29 percent decrease in fatalities and 24 percent decrease in serious injuries.

During their tour at the Traffic and Road Safety Engineering Department, the delegation was also given an overview of the smart systems used to control traffic on roads and nab motorists who run red lights, which aim at achieving the maximum levels of protection and safety on both internal and external roads in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The delegation also visited the traffic accidents’ investigation section and the Customer Service Center, where they reviewed the major accidents planning systems as well as the services provided by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in accordance with the best practices and quality standards, in order to save time and facilitate customer transactions. At end of the visit, commemorative gifts were exchanged between both parties.

Moreover, the delegation visited the Crime Scene Department at Abu Dhabi Police and met Lt. Colonel Salem Khalifa Al Dire, Head of the department, who delved on the duties and activities carried out by the department, as well as the procedures and protocols used to manage and investigate crime scenes, the health and safety procedures and the means to protect the crime scene.

The delegation also toured the Federal Crime Scene training Village, where they were briefed on the training procedures designed to qualify human cadres. The delegation was given an overview of the importance of a crime scene to determine the course of events, the criminal method of operation, the tools used to commit the crime, and the routes used by the criminal to enter and exit the scene.

Furthermore, the delegation watched several scenarios, by which they were acquainted with the means used to process and investigate crime scenes, to collect and photograph trace evidence to be sent to the competent authorities. They also viewed a presentation showcasing the latest equipment and modern techniques used to detect trace evidence at crime scenes, including  the innovative 360-degree camera scanner, which takes very high-resolution images containing several evidence that exist in the crime scene. During the visit, the delegation also reviewed the advanced devices used to collect trace evidence, blood and bodily fluids and to make footwear impressions; in addition to the vehicles used in crime scenes.

Masood Azizi and the accompanying delegation expressed their admiration for the high-level progress and development attained by the Crime Scene Department and the advanced methods implemented in the area of specialized training using the latest technologies and methods.

The meeting was attended by Captain Mohammed Rzeik Al Menhali, Students Affairs Branch Manager; Lieutenant Salem Masoud Al Ahbabi, Training Branch Manager; along with a number of officers and trainers from the Crime Scene.
