ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, March 29th 2015 [ME NewsWire]The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior presented the Strategy of the Ministry of Interior (2014-2016) at the 4th Partners Forum, which was held recently in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The presentation included an introduction of the strategic plan alongside its indexes, goals, and feedback from partners.
The opening of the forum was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services; Major General Dr. Abdul Quddous Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Director General of Total Quality at Dubai Police and Head of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program's Team at the Ministry of Interior; Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General at Ministry; and a number of high ranking federal ministry employees, directors of strategy departments in local entities and departments within the UAE, and a large number of MoI officers.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri explained that the forum comes as a result of the keenness of the MoI to promote the ties and communication with its partners, to understand their present and future needs, exchange opinions, ideas and knowledge. The forum also reflects the level of communicative cohesion between the Ministry and its partners. He pointed out that the forum will discuss a range of topics related to the development and enhancement of the relations as well as cementing the communications framework between the Ministry and its partners, which includes an interactive session with the partners that will be held for the first time in this annual forum in order to receive their remarks and views.
For his part, Lieutenant Abdul Rahman Ali Saeed Al Mansouri, Head of Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Ministry of Interior, welcomed the attendees and stressed the keenness of the Ministry to promote the concept of transparency and continuous communication with the partners to discuss the best practices and utilize and mainstream experiences.
He added: “This forum aims to introduce the mechanism of partnership and the administrative operations of the Ministry and the role of the partners, as well as encouraging them to present ideas and innovative suggestions by introducing the complaints and opinions system within the interactive session.”
The attendees viewed a film regarding the methodologies and mechanisms of the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development and of the Strategy of the Ministry of Interior (2014-2016). Major Salem Said Al Quraini, Chief of Assessment and Strategic Performance Follow up Division, gave a presentation regarding the Strategy of the Ministry of Interior (2014-2016). In his presentation, Major Al Quraini stressed the connection between the strategic priorities and the key subjects of the UAE Vision, which is supported by the strategic enablers. He also explained the strategic direction o Strategy of the Ministry of Interior (2014-2016), as well as the joint initiatives with the partners for the corresponding years.
Major Jamal Salem Al Khateri, Strategic Planning Branch Manager at the Department of Strategy and Performance Development, discussed the national indexes. He highlighted the indexes of ‘feeling 100% secure’ where citizens and residents depend upon policing services that are the first of their kind worldwide; number of deaths in traffic accidents, with three cases of fatality per every 100,000 of the population – ranking the UAE as one of the top five countries; and the e-services, which have are the first-of-its-kind globally. Major Al Khateri concluded his presentations with the strategic performance indexes of 2014-2016.
Major Nasser Khalifa Al Falasi, Chief of the Operations Section, gave a presentation about the operations and the services of the Ministry, the mechanisms of operations management, the connection between the mechanisms of operations management and the guidelines of the relations with partners, the frame work to link the goals to administrative procedures, as well as an explanation of streamlining and improving the operations and procedures in accordance to the complaints and suggestions.
And for his part, Major Saeed Saleh Al Junaibi, Chief of Partnership Section, gave a presentation regarding partnership management within the MoI; the general success factors that contribute to achieving effective partnerships; the partnership management mechanisms as per the partnership actions guidelines of the Ministry; and the criteria for evaluating partners.
At the end of the meeting, Major General Al Khaili recognized the Ministry’s partners by giving them commemorative shields and certificates of gratitude.
