Community Police Visit Sick Children in UAE Hospitals

In Revival of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, July 5th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Community Police teams across the UAE have visited a number of hospitals to check on patients, mostly children, in an attempt to alleviate their suffering. This comes in a bid to commemorate the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day which coincides with the 19th day of Ramadan every year; the day on which the founder of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – May God rest his soul - passed away. The hospital visits are in recognition of his role in founding the philanthropic march within the UAE, and were organized along with the activities of the Emirates Autism Society.

Colonel Mubarak bin Muhairom, Director General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said that the late Sheikh Zayed established a unique example for humanitarian work, on both national  and international levels. The high leadership has continued this march of far reaching benevolence through giving and humanitarian works. He noted that the Federal Community Police Department at the Ministry of Interior followed this approach and have used it as a beacon to communicate with the community and to partner with organizations and charitable societies. He stated that one of the main goals of the participants and hospitals for these nationwide visits is to contribute to the efforts of the Emirates Autism Society in integrating children with autism and orphans into the community.

The Community Police team, accompanied by children from the Emirates Autism Society and orphaned children, visited patients at the Al Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, the Latifa Hospital in Dubai, the Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, the Khalifa Hospital in Ajman, and the Saqr Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah. The Community Police offered gifts to the child patients, checked on their medical situation, and took memorial photos with them. Participating in this event comes out of the partnership with the charitable organizations and societies in the UAE.

The delegations of the Community Police were headed by: Major Ahmed Al Sabousi, Head of the Community Police in Sharjah; Captain Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Head of the Community Police in Ajman; First Lieutenant Mubarak Al Khaili, Manager of the Volunteers Branch in Abu Dhabi; First Lieutenant Sheikha Al Ka’bi, Acting Head of Community Police in Fujairah; and Lieutenant Mozah Al Khabouri, Manager of the Community Programs Branch in Ras Al Khaimah.
