The Media and Public Relations Section at the Directorate General of Resources and Support Services of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector at the Ministry of Interior, recently organized a blood drive in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank (ADBB) at the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD). The drive witnessed significant turnout from officers, non-commissioned officers, constables and civilians working in the sector.
This drive embodies the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sectors’ strategy and its role in serving the local community, demonstrating its positive role and promoting health education, as well as highlighting the many benefits of blood donation.
While donating blood, Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalization Department, emphasized the importance of these humanitarian initiatives and the role they play in instilling human values and promoting the concept of social solidarity. He pointed that the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector constantly organizes blood drives throughout the year in cooperation with the Blood Bank, in support of this humanitarian deed.
Colonel Ahmed Sultan Al Khider, Director General of Resources and Support Services at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector, said that blood donation is a noble and humanitarian initiative, and a moral duty. “Every blood donation can potentially save the lives of people experiencing bleeding due to an accident or surgical procedure, and who need some blood to survive by the will of God,” he said.
For his part, Colonel Mohammed Ali bin Wadeema Al Ameri, Acting Director General of Resources and Support Services pointed out that blood donation campaigns aim to educate the public about the importance and health benefits of blood donation for the human body at all ages. It also aims to strengthen awareness about the methods of safe blood transfusion, and to motivate people to donate blood for sublime and noble goals.
