ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, April 20th 2016 [ME NewsWire]
The Western Region Police Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) concluded preparations to participate in the Al Marfa Watersports Festival. The ten-day festival, which will commence next Thursday, is one of the most important festivals taking place in the Western Region.
The Western Region Police will be taking part in the festival with an awareness exhibition to acquaint the public with the different services they provide and to strengthen community partnership. The Western Region Police Directorate will also be hosting a set of educational activities and events, by which they seek to communicate with the festival’s visitors, in support of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategy to gain the public’s confidence by providing public safety for all.
The Western Region Police Directorate urged participants in these events, including athletes and audience, to cooperate with police and security officers that will be present at the Festival site, and to abide by the instructions that are intended to maintain public safety. The directorate also called upon parents to supervise their children and to not leave them unattended, and to stay away from areas where swimming is prohibited in order to avoid drowning accidents.
