Genpact President & CEO visits Dubai as company doubles presence in UAE

DOZ facilitates growth of outsource industry in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Monday, February 4th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

Just over a year since its inauguration as a business partner of Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), business process management company Genpact has doubled its presence in the UAE.

The news follows a successful year for the organization which has increased its client portfolio from just two in late 2011, to 13 including Mashreq Bank, IFFCO, Mubadala GE Capital, and the Tourism Development & Investment Company, according to Genpact President and CEO, Tiger Tyagarajan, who visited Dubai on 3rd February.

Speaking after a meeting with Mr Tyagarajan in Dubai Internet City, Malek Al Malek, Managing Director of Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone said:  “The UAE is migrating from being a regional support to becoming a regional hub for the business process management industry. Our latest white paper ‘Outsourcing in the MENA Region’ reveals that the UAE outsourcing market is set to record a compound annual growth rate of 10% during the period 2009-2016.

“Genpact is a true success story for DOZ and the company’s rapid expansion over the last year falls in line with our vision to create an environment and infrastructure that fosters innovation and growth for our business partners.”

“There has been a fundamental shift in the business process management services market in the Middle East in the last year and organizations are exploring ways to drive business impact and customer satisfaction,” said Tiger Tyagarajan. “They are looking at companies like Genpact to improve process effectiveness, manage risk and make smarter business decisions through analytics. We have made good progress and we are in advanced stages of discussion with companies to set up shared service centres in the UAE. The support and the world class facilities and services afforded us by DOZ has certainly helped us in the region and we look forward to our continued partnership with them.”

DOZ, the world’s first freezone dedicated to the outsourcing industry, was established in June 2004. Companies set up in the zone can expect to experience an environment that attracts different elements of the value chain from banking and finance, insurance, IT, legal to airlines and hospitality. In addition to Genpact, current companies operating in DOZ include Interglobe, Emirates Airlines, AXA Insurance, Du, Mashreq Bank, Arab Bank, First Data, Cupola, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd, Al Futtaim Willis and Jumeirah Group.
