MoI Praises Suppliers’ Efforts and Cooperation to Enhance Police Services

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, May 30th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Directorate General of Finance and Support Services at the Ministry of Interior organized the annual 2014 meeting with suppliers and services providers in the auditorium at the ministry’s Headquarters.

Brigadier Saeed Salim Al Henki, Director General of Finance and Support Services, stressed the Ministry of Interior’s keenness to honor distinguished suppliers and communicate with different categories of partners and customers. He also noted that the initiative embodies the keenness to interact and communicate with distinguished suppliers; identifying and fulfilling their needs and addressing any problems or deficiency within the law.

Moreover, Brigadier Al Henki praised the suppliers’ effective contribution in achieving the Ministry of Interior’s objectives and enhancing the level of services. He also commended the efforts exerted by the Support and Rehabilitation Section at the Procurement and Warehouses Department aimed at developing the relationship between the ministry and suppliers, while building on efforts and resources to meet their needs and continuously enhance partnership with them. He also expressed his thanks to the suppliers for attending the meeting and their constant communication with the Ministry of Interior. 

The meeting was attended by Colonel Adel Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Head of the Transport and Workshops Department; Colonel Dr. Abdullah Ahmed bin Juma, Head of the Procurement and Warehouses Department; along with section chiefs, a number of officers at the General Directorate of Finance and Support Services and officials from service and supply companies that deal with the Ministry of Interior.

During the meeting, Colonel Dr. Abdullah Ahmed bin Juma delivered a short presentation on the “Supplier Relationship Management” methodology; the 2013 Supplier Assessment Results; the Suppliers’ satisfaction rate, which amounted to 97% during last year; and the ministry’s green applications policy that provides materials and services, in accordance with the UAE’s green application strategy to reduce the negative impact on the environment.

For his part, Major Jamal AL Khatiri, from the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, briefed the attendees on the Ministry of Interior’s strategic plan 2014-2016, which embodies its vision to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world, in terms of safety and security. He also noted that the MoI’s mission focuses on efficient and effective work to enhance the quality of life for the UAE society by providing security, traffic and reform services, and by maintaining the safety of lives, property and values, which include justice, teamwork, good conduct, integrity, loyalty and social responsibility.

At the end of the meeting, the floor was opened for discussion to answer suppliers’ questions and queries and identify their views, suggestions and needs.
