(BUSINESS WIRE)--BrightSource Energy, Inc., a leading solar thermal technology company, has named Mathew Brett as senior vice president of international development. Brett brings two decades of experience in international energy development and project financing to his role at BrightSource.

Prior to joining BrightSource Energy, Brett co-founded and served as the European CEO of Advanced Power AG, a leading independent developer of gas-fired power plants. While at Advanced Power, he was a member of the advisory board and the senior management committee. During his tenure at InterGen, Brett served as Director of Investment and Portfolio Management and led business development projects throughout Europe, including the development and sale of the Knapsack Power Project and the Aldbrough Gas Storage Company. He began his career in finance with Ernst & Young and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.
Brett holds a B.A. in Business Studies from the University of Hertfordshire.
