Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed the importance of strengthening partnership among all concerned sectors in the UAE, through cooperation in the development of services and leveraging this cooperation to serve the community.
These remarks were made by His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior while attending the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Interior and Mubadala Healthcare, a division of Mubadala Development Company. The signing ceremony took place at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s building in the presence of Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Mubadala's Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer. The agreement aims to boost cooperation in the field of medical treatment and healthcare, exchange information and experiences, develop health facilities and provide medical treatment for the MoI’s employees and their families at the various Mubadala Healthcare facilities. Furthermore, His Highness expressed his hope that this partnership would serve as a role model for government institutions. He also praised Mubadala’s development efforts and its keenness to provide best services.
The agreement was signed by Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior and Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, Mubadala's Deputy Group CEO and Chief Executive Officer of Emerging Sectors.
Present at the signing ceremony were Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Salem Al Shamesi, Deputy Director General of Finance and Services; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister; and Colonel Jassim Al Tunaiji, Director of the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far underlined that the agreement represents a quantum leap in the field of medical cooperation with Mubadala Healthcare for the benefit of the Ministry of Interior’s staff members and their families. “The MoU embodies the vision of the police leadership aimed at providing the best medical and treatment services and developing them,” said Lt. General Al Sha’far. Adding further, he pointed out that this cooperation will provide both parties with new opportunities to exchange benefits and take advantage of their respective resources.
Furthermore, he underscored that the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police dedicates significant attention to boosting medical cooperation with medical institutions in the public and private sectors, in a bid to achieve the highest levels of progress in healthcare. Moreover, he praised the distinguished and advanced medical and therapeutic services provided by the medical establishments affiliated to the Medical Holding Company, and expressed his hopes for further cooperation between the two sides.
For his part, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Group CEO and Managing Director of Mubadala Development Company, welcomed the signing of this agreement, which would strengthen relations with partners within the Government, hence providing the Ministry of Interior’s staff members and their families with access to world-class medical services. “This agreement will also provide a new opportunity for medical professionals working at the Ministry of Interior and Mubadala Healthcare to exchange information and expertise, and to enhance their professional medical skills within a framework of cooperation and partnership,” he said.
By virtue of the MoU, Mubadala Healthcare shall allow consultant physicians and specialists at Abu Dhabi Police to provide treatment to patients among the Ministry of Interior’s staff members and their families at Health Point Hospital located in Zayed Sports City; in addition to conducting surgical interventions at the contemporary operating rooms fitted with high-end medical equipment at the hospital. Health Point shall also be in charge of physical therapy, rehabilitation and evaluation processes.
Under this agreement, the Capital Health Screening Centre shall provide the Ministry of Interior’s staff members and their families with dedicated, Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (‘HAAD’) certified visa testing services. There are two kinds of medical tests; regular, with results that can be collected within 48 hours; and express tests with optional same-day results.
The Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police also resorts, when needed, to the services of the National Reference Laboratory to test samples, with an advanced secure and readily accessible method of receiving the results via internet. It also provides access to a menu of more than 4,000 diagnostic tests.
As part of the agreement, the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police shall cooperate with the Cleveland Clinic-Abu Dhabi to provide training services and develop the practical and technical expertise of staff members of both parties. This is achieved through mutual medical conferences, events, workshops, and continuing medical education programs. As per the agreement, Cleveland Clinic shall also provide a second medical opinion service in cases that may require travel abroad for treatment.
