Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reviewed the gold award in occupational health and safety received by Abu Dhabi Police at the recent RoSPA awards, as the first police entity to receive such an accolade on the regional and international levels.
A team from the Strategy and Performance Development Department at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) presented the award to His Highness. His Highness was also briefed on the tremendous efforts exerted by the Abu Dhabi Police in the field of occupational health and safety.
Sheikh Saif praised the commitment of the department, which earned it this prestigious international award. He urged staff members to pursue further efforts and dedication to achieve a sustainable institutional excellence in terms of overall performance; and to keep pace with the development process witnessed by the country in all areas, with a view to upgrade the quality of services to the highest possible levels.
The ceremony, which took place on Monday at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, was attended by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General; and Lietenant Colonel Dr. Saif Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Head of the Security Scenarios Department at the Directorate General of Security Support, and Vice Chairman of the Award team.
Commenting on the achievement, Brigadier Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri said: “By receiving this award, the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters marks another great achievement, surpassing other governmental and non-governmental entities across the world.” He added that this is the first award to be granted to Abu Dhabi Police in the field of occupational health and safety both locally and internationally, stressing that the award assessment process was based on the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) excellence mode.
