Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, attended the graduation ceremony of a mutual training course organized by the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police, in collaboration with Germany. The training course was attended by 49 staff members from the German Special Forces, along with members from Force 7 and Force 5 Departments, at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ).
The graduation ceremony took place in the theatre hall at the Decision-making Support Center in the Police Departments Complex in Abu Dhabi, and was attended by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; Major General Mohammed Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources; and Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations. Also attending were Lieutenant Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamesi, Head of the Training Department; Colonel Mubarak Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of Q7; directors general; and a number of officers from Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; along with the German Ambassador to the UAE, Nikolai von Schöpff.
The course comes in line with the training cooperation between the UAE and Germany’s Ministries of Interior, with a view to increase the readiness and efficiency of UAE Special Forces. It also aims at exchanging mutual experiences and expertise, and reviewing the latest methods in the area of security operations. To this end, participants in the course conducted daily joint drills.
At the end of the ceremony, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far presented a commemorative gift to H.E the German Ambassador to the UAE. He also honored the trainers and distributed certificates to the graduates.
