During a four-day visit to Italy, a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Police discussed training cooperation and expertise exchange with the Italian police (Carabinieri).
Colonel Jamal Habash, Head of the Security Inspection Department (K9) and Chair of the delegation, said: “The visit is a response to an invitation we received from the Italian police to review police and security work fields and benefit from international best practices.”
The visit included a meeting with top officials at the Carabinieri, a visit to the Security Inspection Department in Florence, the Scientific Investigation Section, and the Operation Centers at the regional headquarters in Rome. The visit also included a review of the nature of work at the Special Investigation Group at Livorno and a visit to the Crime Scene Department.
The Abu Dhabi Police delegation met Brigadier General Sebastiano Comitini, Commander of the 2nd Brigade at the Carabinieri. The delegation listened to a presentation on fields of training, police missions executed by the Italian police, and ways to fight crime using modern science. During the meeting, both sides discussed cooperation in the fields of security and training and expertise exchange. This visit paves the way for cooperation agreements on security and police fields in the future.
The delegation from the Abu Dhabi Police included Lieutenant Colonel Khalfan Al Ka’bi, Head of the Training Department; Lieutenant Colonel Salem Al Dir’e, Head of the Federal Crime Scene Department; Major Majid Al Shehhi from the Special Tasks Department; and Captain Expert Ahmed Saeed Al Ka’bi from the Forensic Evidence Department.
