Al Ain Police Intensifies its Efforts in the Wake of Heavy Rains

In the wake of the heavy rain that hit the city, the Al Ain Police Directorate intensified its traffic and police patrols on Thursday and launched clean-up operations to clear the mess left behind as rain water receded across the city.   The directorate also sent its crews to remove the uprooted trees on roads and streets to streamline traffic across Al Ain, in cooperation with Al Ain Municipality and a number of governmental entities.
Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate called upon nationals and residents to be cautious in such climatic conditions, to maintain their safety. He stressed the need to adhere to traffic rules and regulations and directly call the Police Operations Room on the emergency number 999.
The Crises and Disaster Team of Al Ain Police had held a meeting at the directorate’s main building. During the meeting, headed by Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate, attendees tackled the means to step up cooperation and direct coordination with the concerned authorities to ensure the timely handling of emergency cases, as heavy rains lashed various parts of the UAE.
During the meeting, Brigadier Al Amimi reviewed the proposed plans to implement the Crises and Disaster Team’s strategy, as well as its work mechanism. He also examined the means to further cooperation and coordination between Al Ain Police Directorate and all governmental and private institutions in areas of security and safety in the city. “Such initiatives aim to promote efforts to enhance efficiency of handling emergency situations,” Al Amimi noted.
The meeting was attended by Colonel Mohammed Suhail Al Rashidi, Deputy Director of Al Ain Police Directorate; along with a number of partners including government entities and institutions namely; the Al Ain municipality; the UAE Red Crescent; the Al Ain Distribution Company; the Emirates Transport; and the Al Ain Civil Defense Department. Also attending were representatives of government and private departments and institutions in the city; and a number of officers from the Crises and Disaster Team of Al Ain Police.
