ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, February 18th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The
mobile car repair workshop, affiliated with the Western Region Police
Directorate, provided 8696 different services last year. The services
included repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions, replacing
tires, and other malfunctions that occurred to vehicles travelling by
land towards the Al Ghuweifat border checkpoint, or during various
events, such as festivals, taking place in the Western Region.
Colonel
Ojeil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police
Directorate, urged vehicle users in general, including those travelling
by land, to carry out the periodic maintenance required before
traveling, especially in summer, for their own safety and the safety of
accompanying children, women and elderly. “This will help them avoid all
the problems that they may encounter during their journey,” explained
Colonel Al Junaibi .
The Director of the Western Region Police
Directorate called on motorists to call the mobile workshop in the event
of emergencies and car malfunctions. “It is one of the most important
public services in the region. It also provides assistance in repairing
mechanical and electrical malfunctions that may face travelers that are
traveling by land towards the Al Ghuweifat border checkpoint, especially
families crossing the region in the summer,” said Colonel Al Junaibi .
The
idea of the workshop reflects Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s strategy of
maintaining security and safety and preserving the lives and properties
of citizens, particularly on the international highways heading towards
Al Ghuweifat. “Abu Dhabi Police also strives to communicate with the
public, gain its confidence and change the stereotypical image of the
police by projecting an image of police officers supporting and
assisting citizens at any time and place within the borders of the
state, bringing services closer to them, and helping them overcome all
problems that they may face,” said Colonel Al Junaibi.
Furthermore,
Colonel Al Junaibi emphasized the Western Region Police Directorate’s
readiness to improve services for the public, including the mobile
workshop that everyone can benefit from by calling the Operations Room
on 999 and the Directorate on 028081000. “This workshop proved its
importance during the Western Region’s popular festivals and events,
especially the Camel Festival, the Date Festival, the Rally, and the Tal
Moreeb Race. These events witness high malfunction and breakdown rates,
and require quick responses,” concluded Colonel Al Junaibi.
It
is worth mentioning that the mobile workshop is one of the many services
provided by the police to the public. It includes two cars, one of
which is stationed in the Western Region Police Directorate, and the
second one in Al Ruwais, in order to serve the largest amount of people
and provide quick responses.
