A delegation from the Security Support Department at the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) participated in a training with the London Metropolitan Police in order to exchange field experiences. As per the European standards adopted by the London Police, the trainings incorporated various security scenarios related to apprehending suspects and controlling incidents.
According to Captain Jassem Muhammad Al Zaabi, head of the delegation, the visits aims to enhance the capacity of the Security Support Department’s staff members in the planning and implementation of security tasks to the highest degree of efficiency. “Through the exchange of experiences while implementing security scenarios, we have been able to identify and apply the same approaches used by the London Metropolitan Police,” he said.
Adding further, Captain Al Zaabi explained that the applied scenarios are of great importance to the performance of field police tasks. The scenarios covered vital tasks such as apprehending suspects, controlling incidents, and implementing critical missions in a timely manner. He said that they learned the most appropriate tactics in order to accomplish the best results that yield minimal losses and casualties. The training was conducted with the participation of a team from the Metropolitan Police specialized in field operations. The members of the delegation were also acquainted with the various types of scenarios, the steps to preparing them, and their importance to police work.
Continuing, Al Zaabi indicated that the Security Support delegation participated in the application of security scenarios and exchange of experience and expertise during scenarios related to the search and inspection of buildings alongside the use of less-lethal weapons.
It is worth mentioning that the delegation comprised of staff members from the Security Support Department at the Abu Dhabi Police flew to London for a two-week visit with the London Metropolitan Police. During the visit, the ADP delegation participates in the daily patrol field tasks and various training activities of the Metropolitan Police. The visit falls within the framework of the expertise exchange program and the international cooperation efforts in security and police fields
