NEW YORK - Friday, September 23rd 2016 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Following The Estée Lauder Companies’ acquisition of GLAMGLOW in January 2015, the Company announced today several leadership updates, resulting from the brand’s strong success.
Effective October 15, 2016, Beth DiNardo will add oversight of GLAMGLOW to her responsibilities, assuming the title of Global Brand President, Smashbox and GLAMGLOW. She will continue to report directly to John Demsey, Executive Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies.
Ms. DiNardo is an outstanding leader who is highly-regarded for her expertise across merchandising, digital and trend leadership. She has led Smashbox since the Company’s acquisition in 2010, and has expanded the brand’s global footprint to more than 40 markets. Smashbox’s continued growth, supported by its strong global team, has enabled Ms. DiNardo to take on the added responsibility of leading GLAMGLOW.
Additionally, Paula Pontes will re-join the Company in the role of Senior Vice President/Global General Manager, GLAMGLOW, effective November 1, 2016, reporting directly to Ms. DiNardo. Ms. Pontes will succeed Reinaldo Gonzalez, whose strong leadership and business acumen accelerated the brand’s global growth and steered its transition to a sustainable, stand-alone brand within our portfolio. Mr. Gonzalez’ future plans will be announced at a later date.
In her new role, Ms. Pontes will be responsible for continuing to build GLAMGLOW’s global brand equity, developing and executing the brand strategy, and advancing the global business. She will be based at GLAMGLOW’s Hollywood headquarters and will work closely with Glenn and Shannon Dellimore – who will continue in their roles as GLAMGLOW Founders and Creative Directors – to drive new development opportunities and relationships in all countries and channels for the brand.
Ms. Pontes re-joins ELC and brings with her significant experience in helping to lead California-based brands. She joined ELC in 2009 and oversaw the diligence process for the Smashbox acquisition; subsequently, she joined the brand in Los Angeles to lead its integration and strategy definition process alongside Ms. DiNardo for two years. She then served as the General Manager of ELC's Brazil Affiliate, which grew strongly under her leadership. Ms. Pontes was instrumental in the design and implementation of the Affiliate's new corporate structure, as well as in expanding the Affiliate's footprint in secondary cities and ensuring that ELC’s brands were poised to capture the consumption of the emerging middle class. Most recently, Paula was the Executive Vice President of Strategy for Swarovski Consumer Goods Business.
“GLAMGLOW’s move to become a fully integrated brand is an important milestone for GLAMGLOW and for our Company,” said Mr. Demsey. “I am confident that Beth and Paula’s strong leadership capabilities, experience with California-based brands and continued collaboration with Glenn, Shannon and the entire GLAMGLOW team will help usher in the brand’s next phase of growth.”
Glenn and Shannon Dellimore added, “Rey has been a great partner in taking the brand to the next level. Beth and Paula are both inspiring leaders with incredible creativity and deep affinity for L.A. culture and Hollywood trends. We are thrilled to have them on board at GLAMGLOW.”
