Regus supports business growth with launch in Uruguay, its 94th country
Uruguay’s buoyant economy offers growth opportunities for businesses
MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay - Monday, December 19th 2011 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Growing demand for flexible workspacein Latin America has persuaded global workspace provider Regusto open its first business centre in Uruguay, in the capital Montevideo. The opening expands the support available to businesses in Latin America, where the Regus network now covers 14 countries with over 85 locations in 27 cities.
Recently, Regus has opened new business centres in Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru, helping in the process, countless local and international companies expand their footprint in the vibrant economies of Latin America.
Uruguay, Regus’ 94th country, has achieved an excellent economic performance in 2010 and 2011, having also managed to avoid recession in 2009. Strong domestic demand and rising agricultural prices have seen GDP growth top 6% in 2010 and the first quarter of 2011.1
Mark Dixon, CEO for Regus comments, “Growth prospects in Uruguay remain good, and there are plentiful opportunities and attractions for businesses in traditional sectors like agriculture and agri-industry, as well as up-and-coming sectors like finance, commerce, software, communications and logistics.
“This excellent outlook has created a demand for Regus products and services, and we’ve responded to that. The emergence of new working patterns in this region is also pushing up that demand.”
Research by Regus shows that 78% of companies in South America now offer their staff flexible working whilst realising major benefits - including improved staff productivity and work-life balance and lower overheads. 65% of firms in South America believe that flexible working costs less than fixed working. This migration to flexible working has increased demand for flexible workspace.
Dixon continues: “The extension of the Regus network to Uruguay will bring a host of benefits to local and international companies here. Whether they want to harness the potential of flexible working, expand their footprint, test the market, reduce overheads, or do all of those things, the opening of our new business centre will facilitate that.”
