Smith Micro Provides Secure Enterprise Connection Management Solution for Eandis

Quicklink® Mobility ensures consistent wireless connectivity for Belgian utility company’s mobile field workforce

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Tuesday, March 13th 2012 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Smith Micro Software, Inc.(NASDAQ: SMSI), a leading provider of wireless and mobility solutions, today announced its enterprise connection management solution, QuickLink® Mobility, has been selected by utility company Eandis CVBA to simplify and secure mobile connectivity for their field workforce. Eandis operates and develops a distribution network for electricityand natural gas, serving 239 municipalities in Flanders, Belgium.

Eandis is Northern Belgium’s main gas and electric infrastructure company, employing a large fleet of field service engineers equipped with mobile devices. Eandis selected QuickLink Mobility to provide reliable mobile connections to back-office ERP applications, and to automate switchover between wireless networks for end users. Of great importance was Smith Micro’s ability to support carrier-agnostic connections to any wireless network, including Eandis’ preferred WWAN network provider. Now, Eandis can centrally manage mobile connection, security, and budgetary policies to enforce standards and compliance, and can easily update wireless configurations over-the-air, eliminating the need for field workers to come back to the office. Leveraging Smith Micro’s heritage in carrier-grade mobile broadband connectivity, QuickLink Mobility provides greater visibility and control over mobile devices, allowing Eandis IT administrators to better manage their field operations.

“As a leading distributor of electricity and natural gas in Belgium, their remote workforce relies on consistent and secure connectivity in order to provide the best level of service to their customers,” said Douglas Louie, Senior Director, Product Marketing at Smith Micro Software. “QuickLink Mobility allows their mobile workforce to maintain a secure, always-on connection as they move across different types of networks, and dramatically simplifies administration and support for them. It is critical to be able to maintain constant contact with their field force and QuickLink Mobility provides that while integrating harmoniously into their workflows.”

QuickLink Mobility is comprised of the following components:

Unified client software for both connectivity and security features and policies
Deployment server for configuring and updating the client with connectivity and security policies
Security gateway for VPN connections and session persistence

QuickLink Mobility is built on the same core technologies used in Smith Micro’s Experience Manager™platform, helping mobile operators, device manufacturers and enterprises simplify, secure and enhance the mobile experience while optimizing network and device resources. For more information visit:
