Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior attended the graduation ceremony of eight leadership courses, notably, five Senior” and three “Intermediate” leadership courses, organized by the Abu Dhabi Police Training Department. The courses were attended by 149 officers holding the ranks of Captain to Major from the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s various departments. The graduation ceremony took place in the theatre hall at the Decision-making Support Center in the Police Departments Complex in Abu Dhabi.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources; Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations. Also present were Lieutenant Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamsi, Director of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police; alongside Directors-General, and a large number of officers from the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
Lt. General Al Sha’far stressed that extending care to police and administrative leaderships in the UAE is the cornerstone of developing the entire human resource system. For this end, the Leadership Training Program implemented at the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, is an important tool towards improving the knowledge, competencies and behavioral skills of leaders, to qualify them for the modern concept of strategic leader.
“The Leaderships Program aims at establishing an advanced methodology to promote the level of senior leadership. It also aims at achieving the end vision of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, which emphasized the need for continued training and coaching, to qualify second and third class leaders to effectively lead their subordinates as they hold leadership positions at the various police headquarters and departments. This would allow us to attain the coveted goals and achieve the best results, so as to maintain security and stability in the country,” indicated Lt. General Al Sha’far.
Lt. General Al Sha’far urged the graduates to redouble efforts to improve the standard of security services provided by the Abu Dhabi Police to all members of society. This can be achieved by further improving the efficiency of its human cadres and honing their skills to enable them to carry out their security mission to the fullest and maintain national achievements attained by the nation in all fields.
The graduation ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamsi, Director of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police. Addressing the gathering, Al Shamsi noted that: “Success is not a foregone conclusion; it cannot be achieved without prior preparation. Leaderships cannot advance without proper planning based on appropriate education, forethought choice and organized training. For this end, the Directorate General of Human Resources has dedicated significant attention to organize leadership courses, in pursuance of the vision and strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police.”
“We have an abiding faith in the need to achieve excellence and success in all areas. We also believe that is incumbent on all entities in the Government to bear the great responsibility, of pursuing further success as our path-breaking leaders before us. These achievements would not have been possible without the guidance and attention of our wise higher leadership,” added Al Shamsi.
Concluding, he expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of these courses, wishing the graduates further success.
At the end of the ceremony, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, accompanied by Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali and Colonel Thani Al Shamsi, honored the top achievers. Furthermore, the Director of the Training Department presented a commemorative gift to H.E the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior.
