The Abu Dhabi Police reviewed the preparations made by the Security Committee of the
International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (IHEE) 2013.
For this end, Brigadier Dr. Saif Bu Dhafira Al Ameri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at
Abu Dhabi Police visited the committee at the Exhibition Land Center in Abu Dhabi. He was given an
overview of the preparations and procedures established to ensure the security of the exhibition
and the weapons licensing mechanisms.
Brigadier Al Ameri was greeted by Colonel Hameed Al Afrit, Head of the Weapons and Explosives
Department at Abu Dhabi Police, and Chairman of the Security Committee; accompanied by
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Criminal Evidence Department. Colonel Al Afrit
shed light on the preparations made to ensure the best high-end security services to both citizens
and exhibition visitors.
The Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police met the Security Committee
members; lauding their efforts to highlight the positive role of the Security Committee during the
exhibition.
Brigadier Al Ameri also visited the fingerprint office at the exhibition, and reviewed the state-of-
the-art equipment used to issue the Criminal Status Certificate (Good Conduct and Behavior
Certificate) for Nationals wishing to purchase and license weapons.
He also visited some other police entities that will be taking part in the exhibition, notably the
Security Inspection (K9) Department’s pavilion, which will be giving Police Dogs’ performances for
the exhibition’s visitors.
Brigadier Al Ameri urged the Security Committee members to raise awareness among individuals
wishing to purchase and license weapons on the different conditions and requirements of
safekeeping of weapons and ammunitions around the house, and the importance of regular
maintenance of those weapons.
He also praised the diligent efforts exerted by the IHEE’s Higher Organizing Committee to reflect an
honorable image of the event. He also indicated that the committee spares no effort to highlight
this event, with the full support of senior officials from the government, which earned the exhibition
international fame during its past sessions. Thus, it became the preferred destination for all hunting
and equestrian equipment manufacturers competing with similar international exhibitions.
It is noteworthy that the 2013 session of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (IHEE)
features an increased number of exhibitors and participants compared with previous years; and will
host hunting and equestrian fans, as well as environmental Advocates from across the world.
