Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, sent a condolence cable to General Mohammed Ibrahim, Egypt’s Interior Minister, condemning the terrorist assassination attempt on his life on Thursday when a suspected car bomb struck his convoy. His Highness also expressed his sincere condolences to the victims of the heinous crime, praying Allah Almighty to grant the injured a speedy recovery, and avoid the Egyptian people all evils.
Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized that the United Arab Emirates stands by the sisterly Republic of Egypt in its fight against all forms of terrorism.

We express our deepest regret and our stern condemnation for the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack, which not only targets your person, but also aims to undermine the safety, security and stability of Egypt. It was a villainous and contemptible attempt to shatter the capabilities of Egypt’s great people and hamper the development progress laid down by the road map, to lead the Egyptian people to safety and stability.
As we console the bereaved families, we are confident that Egypt and its dedicated leaders will not bow before such evil acts and will not be discouraged from achieving the aspirations of the millions of people. We also emphasize the UAE’s solidarity and permanent and sincere support to the people of Egypt, to help the country regain its historical and prominent status among countries of the region.
We wish you a long healthy life, and pray Allah Almighty to support you in your endeavor to achieve glory for your beloved country.
